| Cliffside is situated in a scenic setting surrounded by nature. From the guest house there are views of the Channel; on a clear day you can see all the way to France and down to the blinking Dungeness Lighthouse. A short walk away is the Lower Leas Coastal Park, where guests can enjoy a picnic lunch with a sea view or explore the paths leading down to the beach. Also within walking distance are good pubs, restaurants, and antique shops. One mile to the east is the centre of Folkestone and to the west lies the charming seaside village of Sandgate and the ancient Cinque Port of Hythe. Cliffside is 10 miles from Dover, 15 miles from Canterbury, and 8 miles from Calais via the Channel Tunnel. If you bring your passports Hilary and Geoff are able to book day trips to France for you via Eurotunnel at very good rates. |
Directions:From London and Ashford on the M20, take junction 12 toward Cheriton and Sandgate; or if you're coming from the Channel Tunnel, follow the signs to Folkestone, turn right at the first roundabout, then take the second exit at the next roundabout. Turn right at the first set of traffic lights and continue until you reach a T-junction. Turn left here and you will come to a crossroads near the top of the hill (veterinary hospital on corner). Turn right into Radnor Cliff Crescent. Cliffside is on the left facing the sea. |

From Dover on the A20, turn off at Folkestone after the tunnel and keep straight on at the roundabout to Sandgate. Continue straight on at the traffic lights. Turn right after the railway bridge and then take the second left which is Audley Road. Turn left at the end and follow road round. When you reach the crossroads go straight across into Radnor Cliff Crescent. From Folkestone take the A259 (Sandgate Road) toward Sandgate. Halfway down Sandgate Hill turn left at the crossroads into Radnor Cliff Crescent.
